‘Jughead: The Hunger’ Gets Its Own Comic Run In Time For Halloween!

Archie Comics have added a new title to their line of horror comics: Jughead: The Hunger. The title was originally released as a one-shot in March but will continue in its own series in October. This is the third title in Archie Horror. Jughead: The Hunger joins Afterlife with Archie and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina in Archie Horror.

Official Synopsis:

During the full moon, Riverdale falls under siege. After discovering his dark lineage in March’s JUGHEAD: THE HUNGER ONE-SHOT by Frank Tieri and Michael Walsh, Jughead Jones struggles to put his past behind him with Betty Cooper: Werewolf Hunter and Archie Andrews hot on his trail!

Frank Tieri (Wolverine) will be continuing the story from the stand alone issue released in March. According to Comic Book Resource, Tieri had this to say about the new series:

“We purposely left the door open with the one shot. We told you if you made Jughead: The Hunger a hit, we’d make more — and since you more than held up your end of the bargain — here we are.”

Tieri continued:

“Fans can expect more of everything they loved about the one shot now as we expand our universe — more werewolf Juggie, more bad ass Betty, more conflicted Archie and more twists and turns than you can shake a severed arm at.”

I have been personally reading more of the recent Archie comics. It’s about time we get something with werewolves. Zombies and vampires have been done to death, so this will be a nice addition to my comics. Jughead: The Hunger #1 hits comic book shops October 27.
