John Carpenter is Developing A New Anthology Series on Syfy!

Horror fans obviously need no introduction to John Carpenter. He’s created a lot of classic horror films including Halloween, The Fog, and one of my personal favorites, Cigarette Burns. But, what has he been up to recently?

EW.com has recently announced that Carpenter is now developing a tv show for Syfy! Carpenter and Universal Cable Productions are already developing Tales For A Halloween Night, which is based on Carpenter’s anthology graphic novel. In addition, UCP and Carpenter are also developing Nightside, based on the series of novels written by Simon R. Green. Jill Blotevogel (Scream: The TV Series) will be writing the script for Nightside. A writer for Tales For A Halloween Night is currently being searched.

According to EW, Dawn Olmstead, Executive Vice President of development at UCP, recently stated:

“John Carpenter is an incredible creator whose dark imagination has left an indelible mark in film and in our dreams. We are thrilled to have a master of the horror genre join UCP.”

Carpenter also commented on the upcoming projects, stating:

“I’m excited to partner with Universal Cable Productions on this venture into television. On one hand, it’s a return home to Universal where I have fond memories, and on the other hand, it’s a step into the future great new creative partners in programming.”

About Karli Lawson

I basically grew up watching horror films and spooky things. I watched my first horror film when I was 4 years old. I've wanted to be a writer ever since I've read Stephen King books in middle school. I love writing and talking about my favorite genre. I hope to one day be successful in screenwriting and filmmaking. Everything horror, of course!
