James Wan And Alexandre Aja Working Together In Horror Film ‘Smart House!’

What do you get when you cross the mind behind Saw with the mind behind High Tension? Horror fans are about to find out! Horror legends James Wan and Alexandre Aja are officially making a horror film together called Smart House, according to Bloody Disgusting. On top of that, Variety has announced that production company Lionsgate has acquired the rights to this new thriller. 

Smart House is about a family in the witness protection program. They’re placed in the custody of a state of the art, autonomous “Smart House.” When a group of assassins finds the family, the house goes into a lethal defense mode.

James Wan is set to produce the film while Alaxandre Aja is on board to direct. Smart House is based on one of James Wan’s original ideas. The script will be penned by Brad Keene, who had previously written The Gravedancers (2006), From Within (2008) and The Grudge 3 (2009). In addition to directing Saw, James Wan’s production company, Atomic Monster, has brought us Lights Out, Annabelle, the upcoming Annabelle sequel and The Nun. Alexandre Aja previously directed Mirrors, High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes (2006), and Horns.
