We’ve been hearing rumors going around about a remake of Alexandre Bustillo and Julian Maury’s horror/thriller Inside (À l’intéreiur) from 2007 for a long time now. Well the folks at Bloody Disgusting have unveiled the first trailer. Check it out below!
Inside is directed by Miguel Ángel Vivas (Extinction, Kidnapped) with a screenplay written by Juame Balagueró ([Rec], [Rec] 2). Starring Laura Harring (Mulholland Dr.) as the woman, Rachel Nichols (Star Trek 2009), Stany Coppet (Pure Life) as Hugo Garcia, Andrea Tivadar (Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV) as Alice Donovan, and Maarten Swaan (Realive) as Matthew Fields.
The official synopsis is:
Pregnant and depressed, a young widow tries to rebuild her life after a fatal car accident where she lost her husband and lost partially her hearing. Now, about to go into labor, she is living in a remote house in the suburbs when, one Christmas night, she receives an unexpected visit from another woman with a devastating objective; to rip the child she’s carrying from inside her. But a mother’s fury when it comes to protecting her child should never be underestimated.
It looks as though Vivas has kept the spirit of the French film, but seems to be less violent. Which is kind of a bummer, but who knows, maybe it will still be entertaining.
We still don’t know when this will get a US release, but it looks like August 18 is the Spanish release. So I guess we will have to play the waiting game to see when this comes out. What do you think about the Inside remake? Let us know.
