Film Festivial Darling ‘Imitation Girl’ Released on VOD-Coming to Select Theaters in April

This mesmerizing directorial debut from Iranian-American filmmaker Natasha Kermani stars Lauren Ashley Carter (The Woman, Darling, Jug Face). When an alien takes the form of an adult film star, both must learn to cope with the complexities of being human in this mesmerizing film festival favorite. Lauren Ashley Carter plays the dual role of Julianna and the alien.

A co-production between Illium Pictures and Cup of Joe Film, Imitation Girl heralds a unique new voice in Kermani.

Film Synopsis:

A mysterious young woman materializes in the middle of the southwest desert, where each step teaches her about her new world and her new body. As she assumes a new life, she discovers she has a twin with whom she shares more than just an outward appearance.

My interest in definitely piqued for this one. The story is original and intriguing. The performances are strong and female driven. It’s not often we get good sci-fi films, and Imitation Girl looks to be one of the good ones. I’m looking forward to checking this one out. It is available now on VOD platforms, including Amazon, Vudu Vimeo, iTunes, Direct TV and many more. It is also set to release in select theaters on April 20th.
