Horror Comic Nico’s Fortune Launches Kickstarter Campaign

Some of my many loves in life include horror, comics, and cats. A project was recently brought to my attention that combines all three, how cool is that? That project is Nico’s Fortune, a comic from Daryl Toh and Ryan King, which recently launched its Kickstarter campaign. Read on for all the details.

Nico’s Fortune is the latest collaboration between Ryan King and Daryl Toh, who previously worked together on The Games We Played.

Nico’s Fortune is a horror comic about a couple of newlyweds (Beth and Laura), their strange cat Nico, and their even stranger neighbors (the Nu Delta Xi’s). It’s in the same vein as Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window, the campy 80’s horror flick Fright Night, and the Seth Rogen/Zac Efron comedy Neighbors – except this story has a cute cat added for purrrfect measure. All together, Nico’s Fortune is a giant mixing bowl filled with horror, romance, comedy, suspense, and adorable, fluffy cuteness!

The recent newlyweds attempt to settle into a cozy, new lifestyle of modern

suburbia, but disaster looms as they battle the behavior of their strange

cat Nico and the even odder lifestyle of their annoying neighbors, the Nu

Delta Xi’s. What horrifying ordeals await Beth and Laura behind the locked

doors of their own home?*
