Despite its unrivaled fanatical following and indisputable success at the box office, horror is still an underappreciated medium in Hollywood. I mean, let’s face facts. The Academy of Motion Pictures pretty much ignores the genre entirely. Few filmmakers or actors have broken through this ridiculous barrier. Guillermo del Toro, however, would not be denied. The time has come for del Toro to make a little more room in his trophy case. The Hollywood walk of fame is calling.

Guillermo del Toro’s body of work is impressive, to say the least. From Producer (Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark), to Screenwriter/Director (The Shape of Water, Hellboy 1 and 2, Mimic, Pacific Rim, Crimson Peak, Pan’s Labyrinth, The Strain, The Devil’s Backbone), and everything in between, del Toro is a genre icon. Check out his full biography at the Walk of Fame website. It’s amazing!
Awesome news! Of course we couldn’t be happier for him, and for his fans. We’ll certainly be tuning in to watch the ceremony come August 6. What about you? Will you be watching? What is your favorite Guillermo del Toro film? Tell us in the comments!
