Good Omens

Amazon Prime’s ‘Good Omens’ Looks Hellishly Heavenly!

Maybe I’ve been living under a rock, but I hadn’t heard anything about Good Omens until recently. I happened to catch a commercial for it during a baseball game, and wow! It looks great! It’s a new, original series from Amazon Prime, based on the eponymous book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, and it hits the streaming service in just a few weeks.

The story follows an angel and a demon who have formed an unlikely, 6000 year friendship, and have grown fond of life on earth. Armageddon approaches, and they must join forces to find a way to save the world.

Good Omens Synopsis

With Armageddon just days away, the armies of Heaven and Hell are amassing and The Four Horsemen are ready to ride. Aziraphale, an angel, and Crowley, a demon, agree to join forces to find the missing Anti-Christ and to stop the war that will end everything. Based on the best-selling novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, Good Omens follows an unlikely duo and their quest to save the world.

Good Omens stars Michael Sheen (Passengers 2016), David Tennant (Bad Samaritan 2018) Brian Cox (Manhunter 1986), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange 2016), and Francis McDormand (Darkman 1990). Sherlock and Doctor Who Director Douglas Mackinnon directed all 6 episodes of season 1. Author Neil Gaiman also wrote the book American Gods, which was also made into a series on Starz, while the late Terry Pratchett created the amazing Discworld book series.

Good Omens lands on Amazon Prime on May 31 and is included with your Prime membership.

Final Thoughts

This looks like a ton of fun! I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never read the book, Good Omens: The Nice And Quite Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch. I see it’s less than $10 on Kindle right now, though, so I think I just may have to fix that oversight.

What do you think? Any fans of the book out there? Will you watch the series on May 31? Tell us in the comments!
