PopHorror Let's Get Scared
Riverdale just wrapped for its midseason finale and will be returning January 17th for its tenth episode. Skeet Ulrich who plays Jughead’s father, FP Jones, spoke with TVLine on who he would cast as Jughead’s mom. Ulrich would like to see former castmate Neve Campbell portray FP’s estranged wife.
Ulrich told TVLine:
“I mean, God, I think Neve [Campbell] would be really interesting. I know she’s busy doing some films and stuff like that, so I don’t know if that’s a possibility. But yeah, I think she’d be very intriguing.”
He also added:
“She’s very talented, and I think the reference to Scream would really tickle people.”
There have already been some references to Scream in the hit series. Most notably when Jughead climbed through Betty’s window and when he was taken into custody for the murder of Jason Blossom.
Scream just celebrated its 21st anniversary a couple of days ago. Ulrich is known for playing boyfriend Billy Loomis to Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott. He also co-starred with Neve Cambell in the beloved 90’s witch film The Craft.
The casting would be perfect if the show can get Campbell. It would add to the star power of the Riverdale parents. Luke Perry (90210) and Molly Ringwald (Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club) play Archie’s parents. Plus, Twin Peaks alum Madchen Amick portrays Betty’s mom Alice.
