Full Moon Empire Acquires Torchlight Details
Full Moon’s library of fantasy, horror and science fiction films is available to stream via the Full Moon Amazon channel, Hulu, Full Moon Streaming, and Exotic Movie House. This acquisition helps solidify and enhance Full Moon’s recent success with offering erotic entertainment on these streaming platforms.
Full Moon Empire founder and president Charles Band had this to say about the acquisition:
“I’ve long admired New City and Torchlight’s beautifully produced, sensual late night cable favorites. While our existing library speaks for itself, adding this new wealth of quality entertainment for adults and couples to enjoy can only strengthen the services we’re currently offering. I’m very excited about this deal.”
Full Moon Empire was founded by Band in 1989. The studio has produced a number of successful indie genre films, including Ghoulies, Trancers, Re-Animator, Puppet Master, Demonic Toys, and From Beyond..
New City Releasing’s was founded in 1991. New City’s Alan B. Bursteen also sounded off on the deal:
“I’ve always been a fan of Charles Band and Full Moon. The erotic films in our library are incredibly popular and I’m very pleased that they’re finding a new lease on life.”
Full Moon Empire will begin streaming titles from the New City/Torchlight deal this month, with select titles headed for DVD and Blu-ray. Upcoming titles include Bikini Frankenstein, Bikini Time Machine, Naughty Newlyweds, Bad Girls At Play, Sapphire Girls, and more.
Sounds like a great deal for Full Moon Empire and for the fans! I’m not sure I’ve seen any of Torchlight’s films, but I’ll certainly be on the lookout in the HBO and Showtime guides. They look fun!
