In my interviews with cult star Laurene Landon and Swedish director and founder of Painted Creek Productions Harley Wallen, there were mentions of an upcoming film called Agramon’s Gate, which is sure to pack a paranormal punch. Last August, the trailer for this devilish feature finally dropped! Not only does this haunting tale look incredible, but it invokes unexpected chills through the bone and to the soul. Directed by Wallen and featuring a cast lineup including Laurene Landon (Maniac Cop franchise) and Yan Birch (The People Under the Stairs 1991), Agramon’s Gate begins with a séance gone wrong. Hoping to speak with deceased loved ones, guests are startled when something else crashes the party. Opening a door to the spirit world, the séance participants inadvertently invite an unwelcome guest to the party and into their lives. As the party ends in shock and confusion, the attendees depart. However, the entity that came through the spirit world has malevolent plans for those who summoned it. Dwelling in the dark arts of manipulation, this entity of evil takes several forms, feeding on fear while its intended victims search for answers to undo their deadly mistake.
According to Director Harley Wallen:
“The film has a very similar feeling to the Netflix series, The Haunting of Hill House, and that is doing really well. So I think it bodes well for Agramon’s Gate.”
Despite its independent budget, Agramon’s Gate appears that it will have impressive quality production value, outstanding cast performances and suspenseful horror paired with a compelling story. Personally, I cannot wait to see this feature and convey how well it holds up right here on PopHorror!
