We over here at PopHorror have been waiting for nearly a year for more news on Rocky Gray’s horror anthology 10/31, and today, we finally got an update. Gray (read our interview with him here), who once played drums for the rock band Evanscence, has now set his sights on creating horror films. After composing the scores for P.J. Stark’s Volumes of Blood: House Stories (see our review here) and Justin M. Seaman’s The Barn (see our review here), Gray decided to go all in, beginning with 10/31 (formerly known as 10/31/16), a film he is not only directing but also scoring. Justin Seaman and Zane Hershberger from The Barn, Johnny Holt of The Dooms Chapel Horror and Brett DeJager of Bonejangles are all directing segments of the film. P.J. Starks of Volumes of Blood is executive producing. So what is 10/31 all about? And why are we so pumped to get this teaser trailer?
First of all, check out the official synopsis for the film:
A Halloween treat bag of all the things that go bump in the night. From masked killers to scarecrows, witches and tricksters. There’s a scare for everyone in this anthology of horror and the macabre from the creators of ‘The Barn’ and ‘Volumes of Blood.’
And then there’s this gorgeous poster, designed by illustrator Tim Baron.
To top it all off, we now have this fantastic teaser trailer, just released today. Check it out!
I bet you recognize that stunningly beautiful horror host, don’t you? There’s a reason for that. That’s PopHorror’s very own Dark and Deadly Dynast of Dread, Malvolia: Queen of Screams! The Queen lowers herself to PopHorror’s standards once a month to grace us with her presence, and even leaves us a scrap or two in the form of Madame of the Month interview articles. Rocky Gray sure knew what he was doing when he cast her in his film!
There are still some hiccups as far as finishing the film, so Rocky started an IndieGoGo campaign to help wrap things up. You can help him and the rest of his cast and crew by going here. There are some great perks like t-shirts, signed soundtracks, posters and more, so don’t miss out on your chance to own some original 10/31 merch and help the film get finished in time for this year’s 10/31.
Now that you’ve seen the trailer, what do you think about 10/31? The film is scheduled to be released in the very near future, and PopHorror will be sure to let you know as soon as we get the release date, so stay tuned!
