Have you ever wanted to submit your film or series to the Sitges International Film Festival? Here’s your chance!
Press Release From Filmarket Hub:
For the sixth consecutive year, the Filmarket Hub platform and the Sitges Film Festival are partnering to host Sitges Pitchbox – an international pitch event dedicated to horror, sci-fi and fantasy projects. The 2020 edition will be held virtually, and for the first time, will be focused on both international feature films and European scripted series in development.
The call is now open and applicants should submit their projects to Filmarket Hub’s online marketplace by the 3rd of September. Seven films and seven series will be selected and representatives from the projects, and will have seven minutes each to pitch to the industry executives. They will then be offered fifteen-minute speed meetings with each of the participating companies.
The selected projects will pitch online and meet leading companies such as Atresmedia Studios, El Estudio, Film Factory, Filmax, Gaumont, Globalgate Entertainment, Leonine, Lionsgate, Nadcon Film, Showrunner Films, Wild Bunch TV and XYZ Films (Mandy 2018 – read the PopHorror review here).
The event will take place over four days during the Sitges Film Festival – October 8th and 9th will be dedicated to scripted series and October 15th and 16th to feature films. Confirmed participants include companies such as Atresmedia Studios, El Estudio, Film Factory, Filmax, Gaumont, Globalgate Entertainment, Leonine, Lionsgate, Nadcon Film, Showrunner Films, Wild Bunch TV and XYZ Films.
Additionally, thanks to the Diputación de Barcelona, four cash awards will be given to the best showcased projects to support development expenses. The best feature film will be awarded with 5.000€, while the two runner up feature films will receive 1.000€ each. An award of 2.500€ will be granted to the best scripted series.
In light of COVID 19, Filmarket Hub decided that the safest way to deliver their 2020 pitch events would be virtually. In early July, Filmarket Hub hosted their first virtual Pitchbox with the UK Online Pitchbox, successfully matching British films and series in development with companies such as BBC Films, Entertainment One, Film4, NBCUniversal, and Studiocanal. The Sitges Pitchbox will replicate this now proven online format.
Filmarket Hub is a curated online marketplace for films and series in development. With 25,000+ users from all over Europe and Latin America, it matches unproduced projects with producers, TV executives, sales agents and distributors.
