Exclusive: First Look At Jessie Seitz’s Indie Slasher ‘Obsidian’

I’ve been following Jessie Seitz work since I first heard of her film Devotion (check out my review here) when the trailer dropped. After seeing the film myself, I knew that Jessie was a unique voice in a genre full of similarity. I met most of the cast, including Linnea Quigley, at the premiere, and it’s a night I will never forget.

Recently, Jessie announced that her next film would be Obsidian,    an indie slasher film starring infamous filmmaker Jim VanBebber. We now have the exclusive first look at the teaser trailer for the film, which is currently in pre-production. Check it out!

Taking place in the early 1990’s and set against a Midwestern backdrop, Obsidian promises to be Seitz’s love letter to the fantasy driven slasher films of her childhood. Jim VanBebber (Deadbeat By Dawn, Manson Family) is set to play a leading role along with musician and artist J.B. Beverly.

Final Thoughts on Obsidian

To put it mildly, I think Obsidian looks fucking amazing! What do you think of the teaser? Are you excited about her new film? Let us know in the comments and be sure to like the Obsidian Facebook page to keep up with all the latest news as well as production stills.
