Eli Roth, director of Hostel, The Green Inferno and Cabin Fever, doesn’t quite scream children’s director. However, this is all about to change as he is teaming up with Jack Black to work on the new film The House With A Clock In Its Walls.
The House With A Clock In Its Walls is going to be an adaptation of the novel of the same name by John Bellairs, and illustrated by Edward Gorey. The novel tells the story of a recently orphaned boy who discovers a world of hidden passages, magic, and danger inside of his uncle’s old home.
Jack Black, most notable for his roles in Shallow Hal, School of Rock and, most recently, Goosebumps will be starring in the film. Eric Kripke wrote the script, while Brad Fischer and James Vanderbilt will be producing the film along with Kripke. The executive producers will be William Sherak, Tracey Nyberg, and Laeta Kalogridis.
This is an interesting combination, and I’m excited to see what the film turns out like! Once more information is available, we’ll be sure to let you know! Are there any other children’s novels you’d like to see adapted into a feature film? Let us know in the comments!
