Indie filmmaker Shawn Burkett (read our interview with him here) announced Tuesday that Wild Eye Releasing will serve as distribution for his film, Don’t Fuck in the Woods 2. This unexpected news for Burkett’s follow-up to Don’t Fuck in the Woods (2016 – read our review here) comes with much excitement showing headway towards a long-awaited release as we quickly approach the three year mark of its 2018 IndieGoGo campaign.

Although campaign backers may understandably be feeling impatient, there is reason behind Burkett’s madness. Besides the craziness that was the year 2020, over 2.5 million illegal downloads and streams of the original creature feature was a result of the hideously irresponsible actions of a campaign backer. Due to this theft, Burkett made the difficult decision to postpone the release of campaign perks until the official release of Don’t Fuck in the Woods 2.

No stranger to indie horror and creature features, Wild Eye Releasing is known for gems such as Todd Sheets’ Clownado (read our review here), Dave Campfield’s Caesar and Otto’s Summer Camp Massacre (read our review here) and Brett DeJager’s Bonejangles (read our review here). Showcasing a catalog that clearly connects indie filmmakers with indie horror lovers, Wild Eye seems to be a perfect fit for Burkett’s provocative creature feature sequel.

Although an official release date has yet to be announced, paperwork has been signed and progress has been made. We shall soon rejoin surviving camper Jane (Brittany Blanton – read our interview here) for another raunchy adventure no doubt involving more boobs, blood, booze and deep woods horror!
