It’s The Goonies meets Night of the Living Dead. Dead Shack by Peter Ricq is a teen filled movie with zombies on top. Throughout the years, zombies have been at the center of film and TV but Ricq adds his film which is a tale of horror and comedy. The film was introduced as a Kickstarter to get more funding for visual effects.
Official Synopsis:
On a weekend getaway at a rundown cabin in the woods, Jason, a cautious teen, his crude best friend Colin and his fearless older sister Summer are forced to work together, grow up and save their hard partying parents from their predatory neighbor intent on feeding them all to her undead family.
Dead Shack is directed and written by Peter Ricq. Phil Ivanusic and Davila LeBlanc also penned the script too. The cast includes: Lauren Holly, Valerie Tian, Donavon Stinson, Lizzie Boys and June B. Wilde.
The film’s trailer is bloody and screams zombie movie. The premise of the film is pretty simple though: a getaway in the middle of nowhere leads to all out mayhem. The effects look all practical which I find better than the use of visual effects. The film reminds me of a throwback to 80’s horror movies and I can’t wait to see it. The film will be at Frightfest at Cineworld Leicester Square and The Prince Charles Cinema. The event is August 26-28th. What do you think about Dead Shack? Let us know in the comments below.
