PopHorror Let's Get Scared
Awhile back I read and reviewed the amazing novel Dead Jack and the Pandemonium Device (read my review here). The novel is an absolute blast and it’s crazy action and its fun characters, particularly it’s wisecracking zombie gumshoe protagonist and his homunculus partner, are just begging to be turned into a film. Well, it was recently announced that Dreamstreet Entertainment and Lonetree Entertainment have purchased the optioned film rights. Check out the press release below for all the details.
Lane Heymont at The Tobias Literary Agency, Gloria Morrison at Dreamstreet Entertainment, Tony Eldridge at Lonetree Entertainment, and James Acquilone are pleased to announce that Dreamstreet Entertainment and Lonetree Entertainment has taken an option on film rights to Aquilone’s fantasy noir DEAD JACK AND THE PANDEMONIUM DEVICE with Tony Eldridge, Gloria Morrison, John Harlacher, and Lane Heymont co-producing.
Curiosity Quills Press has recently acquired paperback rights to Dead Jack and the Pandemonium Device, which will hit bookstores in early 2018. Aquilone’s short fiction has appeared in Nature magazine’s Futures, The Best of Galaxy’s Edge 2013-2014, Unidentified Funny Objects 4, and Weird Tales Magazine.
Tony Eldridge, co-producer and principal at Lonetree Entertainment, is the producer of the Denzel Washington movie THE EQUALIZER and THE EQUALIZER 2, which is now filming. Tony is also a co-producer of the forthcoming film THE WAR MAGICIAN starring Benedict Cumberbatch in conjunction with StudioCanal, StoryScape Entertainment, and SunnyMarch.
Gloria Morrison, co-producer and CEO of Dreamstreet Entertainment and Unistar International Pictures, brought DEAD JACK to Tony’s attention who instantly recognized not only the great humor, adventure, and characterization of Dead Jack, but also the strong series appeal.
Tony says, “Gloria turned me on to Dead Jack, and as soon as I read it I knew it would make an incredible film or TV series. I am so excited to bring James’ hilariously wild vision to life.”

Lonetree Entertainment is a Malibu, California based production company which is developing twenty some odd feature films, including Jonathan Mayberry’s Mars One. Dreamstreet Entertainment is an ever-expanding production company based in Hollywood, California.
