‘The Control Group’ (2014) Movie Review – Don’t Get Chosen

Dear Horror Fans,
Are you ready for a complete gorefest mixed in with a few ounces of the supernatural? Then The Control Group is for just what you need! The trailer is just begging for you to watch it, but first lets assess why we might just love this crazy concoction. It is my belief that we are slowly weening ourselves off of paranormal horror and getting back to what we all know and love. Blood, violence, and total mind-fucks await, so hit play below and lets see what this film has to offer.

Directed by Peter Hurd, The Control Group premiered at the Twin Cities Film Festival back in 2014. After three long years, we will finally see the film’s release on DVD in late February. The Control Group follows a group of college students who are locked in an abandoned insane asylum to be lab rats. From the trailer, it looks like it all goes horribly wrong. Starring Brad Dourif and Ross Destiche, this looks like it is gonna be one horror movie you won’t want to miss.

So far, 2017 is shaping up to be one hell of a year for horror fans. If the filmmakers continue on this trend, we might be able to forgive them for the slim pickings from 2016. What do you think about this new development? Do you think we are finally returning to the gory slasher days or is this just us coming up for air before we receive a bunch of paranormal horror films like we normally do?
