Hello, gorgeous. We are back with an unboxing from a company we know and love. Haus of Gloi was kind enough to send me a sampler of their Haus of Gloi Valentine’s 2020 collection and I love this time of year. Even though Valentine’s Day has passed, the sweet and floral notes that the day brings are here to stay on the winds of Spring. Meteorological Spring starts in less than a week and I am ready for it.
I want to thank Haus of Gloi for working with us once again to share their beautifully crafted scents. If you are ready to experience a collection full of sugar, petals and love, then proceed.
First up in the Haus of Gloi Valentine’s 2020 sampler box are these three larger sample sizes of two sprays and one hair oil. I am such a hair oil convert and I now choose hair oil over conditioner regularly. If smells bother you but you want the benefits of a natural hair oil, then Aether is for you. There is no scent but you get the scalp and hair benefits of using natural oils to soften and repair your hair. Grab a full bottle for $12. I highly recommend Hex hair oil as well.
Next is the perfume Come Hither. I love this name and the story behind it. This fragrance is based off the oils and herbs used in Hoodoo to attract a lover. It smells of bourbon vanilla, tonka bean, rose oil, orris root, saffron and honey. This scent is powdery and warm. The honey stands out initially, but the vanilla and tonka bean softens the honey to give it a well-rounded sweetness.
The last of the larger samplers is First Blush. This scent has Tahitian vanilla bean, white tea, lavender and peach. The peach really hits first before the clean white tea slides in, followed by the powdery lavender and the sweet vanilla. Strangely, this wasn’t my favorite, even though I adore the smell of peach. Perhaps I wish the peach stayed a little stronger through it all.
One of the most interesting scents from the Haus of Gloi Valentine’s 2020 collection is one called Lily Cake and it smells of white cake, lily of the valley and white ginger. I love the smell of white cake and it is the first smell that hits you before a powdery floral takes over. I wish the cake was a bit stronger, but it’s still lovely. Next is Superfreak and it smells like vanilla, incense and red wine. The smoky incense smell is so intense that it almost gives it a medicinal smell. It calms down a little, but he incense definitely takes over the scent.
The next perfume is called Redezvous. Oddly, I couldn’t find a single thing about this scent, so I truly don’t know what’s in it. The best way I can describe it is walking through a bakery with a bouquet of flowers up to your nose. I hope that description helps. The last in this picture is Dank Chocolate and it smells just like you think it would with notes of dark chocolate and aged patchouli. I am not a fan of the smell of chocolate, especially in perfumes but if you like chocolate, this is definitely chocolate.
The last group of samples from the Haus of Gloi Valentine’s 2020 collection starts with Who Needs Love, for those anti-Valentine’s Day people. This smells like a box of chocolate truffles with coffee, raspberry and pomegranate filling. This is another fragrance that isn’t my cup of tea but I would LOVE this in a home fragrance. The coffee is strong but you get a hint of sweetness from the raspberry and pomegranate.
Next is Aficionado which has notes of vanilla tobacco, red cedar, pipe smoke and whiskey. This is very smoky and I feel like I walked into a gentleman’s study. You know the kind where they wear ascots. Next is Risque and it is risque indeed with notes of leather, red musk and rose petals. Leather is one of those smells that can take over an entire perfume. It is strong with this one but not as strong as it could be. The rose and musk are gentle and I wish the rose was a bit more prominent.
Forget-Me-Not is a perfect representation of Springtime smelling like wildflowers and tall grass. This is my favorite perfume from the whole collection. This smells like Spring breezes when it blows the scent of fresh flowers into your windows. I would love to have this in a spray to make my hair smell like a bundle of flowers. Love, love, LOVE this one.
The last perfume from the Haus of Gloi Valentine’s 2020 collection is Cosy Rose. This is a blend of their perfumes Cozy Sweater and Rose City. This is my second favorite from the collection because it smells so much like roses but the clean cotton of the Cozy Sweater gives it such a clean layer. This is another one I would love to have in a spray.
That’s all for the Haus of Gloi Valentine’s 2020 Collection unboxing. While there were several that just weren’t my fragrance style, the last two scents were absolutely incredible and probably my favorites from any of the Haus of Gloi fragrances we have tried to date. I am mentally ready for Spring and now my perfumes are too. Check out this collection HERE. Even those these items were sent to me, I was not paid by any party for this review and my opinions are my own.
