If you loved the first season of NOS4A2, you’re going to dig the second season even more! Based on the highly acclaimed best-selling novel by Joe Hill (Horns), this show stars Ashleigh Cummings (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries), Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (True Detective), Jahkara J. Smith (Into The Dark), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls) and Virginia Kull (Big Little Lies).
Synopsis
NOS4A2 Season 2 picks up eight years after the events of season one. Vic McQueen remains more determined than ever to destroy Charlie Manx. Charlie, having faced his own mortality, emerges desperate for revenge against Vic. This time, he sets his sights on the person who means most to Vic – her eight-year-old son Wayne. The race for Wayne’s soul sends Vic and Charlie on a high-speed collision course, forcing both to confront the mistakes of their pasts in order to secure a hold on Wayne’s future.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this season two, but I ended up loving it so much. I wasn’t actually a fan of the first season. It bored me and I found it hard to sit through. However, I loved the story more in this one and the characters grew on me even more. It just delivered on all aspects that the first one slacked on.
I love all the characters in NOS4A2 but Ashleigh Cummings and Zachary Quinto deliver the perfect on-screen chemistry. They play well off each other’s emotions and deliver something magical with this series. Zachary in particular is always phenomenal and a great character actor, I think he was born for this role.
I thought the cinematography and imagery in this series was exceptionally beautiful and something to be admired. It really helped set that cold and dreary atmosphere that centers around the story. The DVD and BLU-RAY also includes some great bonus feature such as a look at season 2, catching up with the characters, the origin of Charlie Manx, and the comic-com@home panel. I personally loved the catching up with the characters and the origin of Charlie Manx segments. I loved learned more about the characters especially the history behind Charlie. He’s such an interesting character!
