Award Winning Short Film ‘BFF Girls’ Now On Vimeo

BFF Girls (read our review here) made its world premiere at the 2018 Boston Underground Film Festival and received rave reviews. The film went on to screen at a total of 37 film festivals, taking home 7 awards, including Best of Fest from Les Femmes Underground International Film Festival and the Trasharama Golden Lomax Award from Monster Fest in Melbourne, Australia. This crazy short film from director Brian Lonano has a little bit of everything… Magical transformations! A flamboyant warlock! A tampon monster!? The filmmakers sent us word that the award winner is available now on Vimeo on Demand.

BFF Girls Synopsis

BFF Girls (which stands for Beautiful Fantasy Flower Girls) focuses on three dorky American girls who magically transform into beautiful Japanese superheroes and battle a tampon monster called Anti-Flow as they begin their journey into womanhood.

The film stars Allison Maier, Jessica Shipp, Sydney Allison Thomas, Marilyn Chung, Jessica Nam, Carolann Utley, Lea Enslin and Lawrence Sykkmon. BFF Girls also features the voice talents of Dana Snyder, Laurence R. Harvey, and Michael St. Michaels. Brian Lonano co-wrote the film with his wife, Victoria Cook, and co-produced with Blake Myers and Jill Gevargizian (read our interview with her here), known for her popular short films Call Girl, 42 Counts (read our review of the film here) and The Stylist (read our review of the film here).
