Hail to the King, baby.
Blood, guts, gore, beer, girls, Motörhead, and Ash! You get all that and more in the official red band trailer for season 2 of Ash vs. Evil Dead.
The trailer premiered online today, and many online reports are saying it was supposed to premiere at the SDCC but was too NSFW. Typical Ash, screwing it up for everyone else.
Season 2 sees Ash (Bruce Campbell) and company returning to his hometown of Elk Grove, Michigan. After attempting to party and put his “spicy man-meat into a mother-daughter sandwich” in Jacksonville only to be attacked by deadites, Ash knows he needs to return to the source of where it all started. Ruby (Lucy Lawless) also asks for Ash’s help in sending the evil dead back to Hell, albeit reluctantly.
If this trailer truly is a prelude to the madness that season 2 has to offer, then Evil Dead fans and horror fans in general are in for a treat. So many great Ash-isms (I just made that up, I think) just in this trailer give hope to another great season of Ash being Ash. The blood and guts are anything but smeared on the camera lens! If I had to describe the new trailer in one word: groovy.
Season 2 will premiere on Starz this October, and you can bet I’ll be sitting right in front of that television when it does.
