Many of you have already binged season two of Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things. Be sure to check out PopHorror’s spoiler free review here. For us book aficionados, wouldn’t it be awesome if this TV series were a book series as well? What would be even more awesome? If the book covers looked like those great ’80s style Stephen King novels! Butcher Billy, a pop culture artist, has taken all of the episodes of season two and made them into a series of Stephen King inspired retro book covers!
Butcher Billy wrote this on his website.
Atari video games, Stephen King pulp paperbacks, Eerie comic books, Dario Argento B-Horror movies, MTV punks… these are some of the stranger things of the ’80s.
Check out these awesome book covers below!
Butcher Billy did Atari covers as well!
Butcher Billy takes what is considered pop culture from a variety of sources – music, comics, movies, games etc – and mashes them all together to come up with something that draws on nostalgia, while, at the same time, provides the audience with a fresh take on a familiar scene. He’s not even going to apologize. It’s that sort of rule-breaking, devil may care, chaotic attitude that inspires Billy’s art- Redbubble
These covers are not only breathtaking but are nostalgic. In particular for us ’80s children. Stranger Things fans, what do you think? I absolutely adore these. It would be great if these become a shirt or an art print. Butcher Billy is a talented artist. Be sure to check out his Facebook and website for more. Hard for me to decide, but I lean towards The Lost Sister. Which cover is your favorite? Let us know in the comments!
