Aleister: Ah, Aleister Crowley, one of the most famous occultists and left-hand path magicians of all time… you can’t study the occult without studying his life and his works. For the All Hallows Bazaar: Immortal Perfumes Fall 2020 stall, we have a scent from the Coven Collection in his honor, which has notes of Night Queen (possibly the flower?), spice, palo santo, sandalwood, Egyptian musk, cypress, opium, and bark. This. Smells. Incredible. You can really smell the palo santo and sandalwood and then the spice comes through. The opium and musk gives it weight and depth while the bark grounds it with earthiness. Aleister has a subtle mustiness that reminds me of dusty tomes in an old library. This is an instant favorite.

Unhallowed Art: This perfume celebrates a classic writer and an influential woman. Unhallowed Art is to honor the incomparable Mary Shelley in the Dead Writers Collection. It has notes of tonka bean, oud, jasmine, rose, violet, and musk. The perfume is supposed to start off sweet and become smoky, but I find that it does the opposite. On my body chemistry, the smokiness leads, but then the sweet violet brings up the rear, leaving a sweet and delicate powdery floral perfume with just a hint of earthy smokiness. This, too, is VERY lovely and smells vintage.

Dead Writers: This selection for the All Hallows Bazaar: Immortal Perfumes Fall 2020 stall is obviously from the Dead Writers Collection. This perfume will resurrect the ghosts and works of writers long past with notes of heliotrope, tobacco, vetiver, black tea, musk, vanilla, and clove. The clove and black tea hit you in a wave initially, but the herbaceous tobacco and tea and sweet vanilla sweep in and join together. This is a delightfully spicy and sweet unisex scent that smells grounded and timeless.

Maitre du Mystere: Man of Mystery, indeed! This is an irresistible cologne that is perfect for the colder weather and was made to honor the late Harry Houdini in the Coven Collection for the All Hallows Bazaar: Immortal Perfumes Fall 2020 stall. It has notes of chai tea, bergamot, smoke, Peru basalm, oud, coffee, tonka bean, and cedarwood. It is definitely a unisex scent due to the sweet spiciness of the chai spices and the bitter citrus of the bergamot. The evergreen notes in it make it perfect for late fall and winter, and thankfully, you can’t smell too much of the coffee. Coffee tends to take over anything it touches, so the lightness in this scent is welcome. It’s surprisingly very delicate.

Affair of the Poisons: The history of poisons is a long one and very interesting. The popular poison, belladonna, was used as a beauty treatment to make women’s eyes dilated to make them appear bigger. It has been used in small amounts as a sleep aid and by Giulia Tofana as an ingredient in her “cosmetic” tincture called Aqua Tofana, something that women used to secretly kill their husbands. Over 600 of them, to be exact. This perfume is completely safe and has notes of fire, oud, belladonna, black jasmine, tonka bean, and elderflower. This perfume is beautiful with a sweet floral nature. It is sweet and heavy but slightly bright and good for all of the seasons.

Crystal Gazer: I see something in your future. It is something sweet and beautiful. Is it a woman? No, no, not a woman. I see… a perfume! Yes, that’s it! I see a sweet perfume in your future called Crystal Gazer. This little floral and fruit number for the All Hallows Bazaar: Immortal Perfumes Fall 2020 stall has notes of black oud, smoke, opium, woodsage, osmanthus, and black cardamom. Given how dark and heavy those ingredients are, you would think this would be a very heavy fragrance, but it is just the opposite. The fruity floral osmanthus really takes center stage with this one, creating a sweet and bright perfume. The black oud and opium really ground it, but it doesn’t take away any of the spring-like freshness that the osmanthus offers.

Voodoo Queen: Here we have a perfume fit for a queen. This scent is made to remind you of Marie Laveau, the most famous Voodoo practitioner in all of Louisiana. It smells like magic with notes of black cardamom, saffron, sage, palo santo, rose, jasmine and cedar. The strangest thing about this perfume is that all of those notes come together and almost smell minty. Your sinuses feel cooled just smelling it. This is a gorgeous perfume that smells almost like Chinese medicine at first but smooths out into a woodsy, floral. Love it!

Weird Sister: I hate to end on a bad note in the All Hallows Bazaar: Immortal Perfumes Fall 2020 stall, but this is truly the only one that hated my body chemistry. In the bottle, this smells almost like pure honey. It’s a very vintage fragrance and really does smell pretty. But on my body, this turns to straight old pee/spit smell, and I have no idea why. The isn’t the first perfume to do this on me (not from this company), and I think it has to possibly do with certain resins used. This perfume contains labdanum, and I believe that might be the culprit. I think I have the same issue with olibanum. The other notes are apricot, yarrow, belladonna, wormwood, dark amber, and mimosa. With the resin, the wormwood, and the amber, it is a heavy, powdery sweet smelling perfume that would be lovely on someone that is not me. It hates me, apparently.

That is all for the All Hallows Bazaar: Immortal Perfumes Fall 2020 showcase! My favorites from this stall were Voodoo Queen, Unhallowed Art, Maitre de Mystere and Crystal Gazer, although it really is hard to choose favorites. You can snag sample packs for as little as $15 to try a little of each one or grab an individual perfume for as little as $5 up to around $50 for 15 ml. If you would like to browse their other collections, check them out HERE. Even though these perfumes were sent to me, I was not paid to do this review, and my opinions are entirely my own.
