We’ve been following Australian Writer/Director/Editor/Producer Adam Weber since we first reviewed his twisted short, After Hours (2016 – read our review here), starring Bill Oberst, Jr. (read our interview with him here). Next, we watched his stomach-churning 2018 short, The First Date (2018 – read our review here). Now, we’ve heard that there’s yet another story being manipulated in Weber’s talented hands, a crime comedy called The Body.
Synopsis:
A hit man and his potential protege are tasked with burying a body in the countryside, but the seemingly simple job takes an unexpected turn.
Weber has a strong backbone of cast and crew helping him to create The Body. The three cast members are Tim Hawkins (60 Seconds 2 Die: 60 Seconds to Die 2 2018), Anton Schrama (The First Date 2018) and Cinematographer/Editor Marc Clement (The First Date 2018). Nick Berry-Smith (Barnacles Will Grow On Your Heart 2009) has signed on as the Director of Photography, and Rowan Pullen (Arc Raider 2017) will help Weber with the editing. The First Date’s Corrie Emory is in charge of special effects.
What we know so far: The Body has begun filming with plans to wrap by the end of 2019. Start looking for the short in film festivals in the beginning of 2020. We don’t have a trailer yet, but we do have a hilarious behind the scenes video that you can check out. Be sure to keep an eye on The Body’s Facebook page for news, and get an eyeful of the brand spankin’ new poster artwork for the film below.
