A whodunnit turned deadly comes in the form of new film Dead Body, a film that evokes the feel of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None and Clue. Six high school students get together for one last time. They decide to play a game called Dead Body. One person plays the killer and another plays the dead body. However, this game turns into a real life murder mystery. The survivors have to fight to stay alive while trying to figure out which of them is the killer.
Official Synopsis: Nine high school kids celebrate graduation at a secluded home in the wilderness. They fight, philander, and feel nostalgic as they embark on a life away from home, in college. Once the party dies down they play a game: Dead Body. But when one party-goer takes the game too far, actually murdering the other guests one by one, it’s up to the group to set aside their tensions, and ferret out the murderer before it’s too late.
Dead Body was released from Terror Films, the company that brought us Red Eye and Talon Falls. For the director, we got Bobbin Ramsey in his first directorial debut. Ian Bell and Ramon Isao came up with the story, whil Isao penned the script. The large cast includes Spencer Hamp, Cooper Hopkins, Nathan Pringle, Jay Myers, Leah Pfenning, Miho Aizawa, Nic Morden, Rachel Brun and Koe Sakuta. A lot of the cast are first time actors which can be seen as good or bad. The film was nominated for Best Horror Feature at the 2016 Phoenix International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival. It won Best Special Effects at the 2015 New York City Horror Film Festival.

The poster just shrieks Clue with the game box, the suspect cards, the dice and let’s not forget the weapons. The trailer shows six friends coming together before they graduate and go their separate ways. It starts off all fun and games, but then it takes a turn when they realize that everything is real. In one frame, there was the killer who might have not been a good choice to put in the trailer since it should evoke the murder mystery vibe. The killer was wearing a mask, but still, this was kind of a poor choice to put it in the trailer. Otherwise, the trailer has a mix of murder and mystery as the group argues who they think is the killer.
Dead Body was released on October 17, 2017. It can be seen on iTunes, Amazon Instant/Prime, Vudu, Google Play/You Tube and X-Box Live. Check out our review coming soon!
