Happy birthday to model, actress, fashion designer and scream queen extraordinaire Sheri Moon Zombie, who turns 46 years old today!

Before she was Sheri Moon or Kitty Moon, Sheri Moon Zombie was born Sheri Lyn Skurkis in San Jose, California. A California girl by birth, Sheri grew up and went to high school in Connecticut. Following a brief return to California, Sheri headed East once more to attend Broadcasting School in the hopes of becoming an MTV VJ.

“I guess you could say the beginning of my career as an actress was when I started performing in music videos.” ~Sheri Moon Zombie
Sheri Moon met Rob Zombie at a club in Connecticut called Toad’s Place in 1993 while he was performing with White Zombie. The two soon became a couple and Sheri went on to star in nearly 20 music videos for White Zombie and for Rob Zombie’s solo act.
“Nothing can shock me.” ~Sheri Moon Zombie
Rob Zombie and Sheri Moon married in October of 2002 (Halloween, actually!) right around the time Rob started working on his feature film debut, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES. Rob cast Sheri as “Baby” in the film, which went on to spawn a sequel: THE DEVIL’S REJECTS.
“I don’t actively seek work. I just don’t like the whole audition process that actors have to go through, God bless them.” ~Sheri Moon Zombie
The success of HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and THE DEVIL’S REJECTS launched the couple’s film career together. Rob went on to direct Sheri in the HALLOWEEN remake in 2007 and its sequel HALLOWEEN II in 2009. Sheri also appeared in Rob Zombie’s THE LORDS OF SALEM in 2012.
The couple’s latest project, Rob Zombie’s 31, is a crowdfunded production that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January of 2016. The film is slated to appear in a limited theatrical release this month and will undoubtedly arrive on home video in 2017.
Sheri Moon Zombie was named one of the top Scream Queens of 2007 by USA Today. Maxim honored her as one of the Hottest Women In Horror in 2012. The band Bronx Casket Company wrote a song about her in 2005 for their Hellectric album called “Sharimoon.” The song provides the backdrop for this awesome (and slightly NSFW) fan tribute to Shari Moon Zombie.
