If the ocean wasn’t bad enough with sharks and various sea creatures attacking, there’s now the risk of falling victim at the pool. 12 Feet Deep is a new film from Matt Eskandari (Victim, Game of Assassins). The film exploits the fear of being trapped in unbearable circumstances.
12 Feet Deep stars Tobin Bell, Diane Farr, Nora-Jane Noone in this underwater survival story.
Official Synopsis:
Inspired by true events, two sisters are trapped under the fiberglass cover of an Olympic sized public pool and must brave the cold and each other to survive the harrowing night.
The story is based on true events but I am not sure how far the “truth” stretches. It’s hard picturing someone getting trapped at a public pool, but then again crazier things have happened. Plus, in the trailer it appears that the two girls were trapped intentionally. It also builds up the thrills as the two sisters not only have to be trapped in the pool with little room to breathe, but have to fight off the stranger that is trying to harm them.
Now, I would love if the villain was Tobin Bell, but from what I’ve been reading the antagonist appears to be someone else. I guess we’ll find out! 12 Feet Deep is to be released on VOD and other digital platforms on June 20th, will you dare to take the plunge?
